What is ISO

ISO 9001:2015 is an International standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system that companies can use to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide quality products and services to their customers.

ISO-9001:2015 Highlights

Previously certified to the 2008 standard, in 2017 WPI successfully re-certified to the revised 2015 standard. With more emphasis on a process approach to quality, the new standard encourages companies to use the following guidelines to measure and monitor their business processes:

  • PDCA – Plan, Do, Check, Act – the Deming Cycle provides a method for organizations to continuously improve all aspects of the business
  • Risk Management – prepare for and minimize risks
  • Opportunity Management – seek out opportunities to provide more value to customers
